About this study

This study clarifies issues relating to the use of key concepts when studying cases of abuse, neglect and dignity in care. The study focuses on research with older people living in residential and nursing care settings.

Potential policy impact

The suggestions made in the report will help in developing a more robust evidence base and will help researchers in designing deliverable, sensitive research that makes a positive difference with potentially vulnerable populations.
